What Epson Bath Salts Can Do For You

Every time I walked to the market store, I would see an entire aisle of beauty products including colorful bath salts. Eye-candy as they were to me, I would simply look but not purchase. Who actually uses bath salts at home? I hadn’t a clue on what they really were, and what they were for. Just no plain idea on what good they would do me.

Little did I know about the world of aromatherapy and how mother nature’s elements would enrich me in all facets of life. And these bath salts are the closest thing to taking a natural mineral bath in a hot spring, for they are made up of epsom salt and dead sea salt. I can take a hand full of these salts and massage them into my skin to get the dead ones off. And while I’m getting the dead skin off, I’m putting some moisture back in! What do you know? Nice natural remedy to soothe my mind, body, and soul, eh? So, naturally it would be neat to make a jar full of these at home.

And to think about how much pimple-causing bacteria I can get out of my pores from using these homemade bath salts! Genius! All that bacteria and sweat, just scrubbed away in the midst of all that exfoliation. Bye bye, pizza face, bye bye. My face is feeling so relaxed already just thinking about it. All the pores on my face will be so open and free–it will surely heal with happiness with nothing blocking or in the way.

But, what’s this? There’s even more benefits dealing with bug bites and skin rashes? Fantastic! I can use epsom bath salts on areas of the skin that have been affected with minor rashes and infections, Athlete’s Foot and psoriasis, eczema and whatnot. So nice to soothe all of that in one fell swoop. (Though I hope I don’t get cursed with that all at once!)

Okay, okay maybe not so evil, but what if you felt so tense all over your muscles and tendons? That would still benefit from a little massaging with the home made bath salts. With all the stress you can feel mentally, you can feel it physically, too, and the epsom salt can come to the rescue here, too.

What’s not evil is the awesome benefits of aromatherapy. When you smell scents like lavender, lavender, vanilla or other pleasant-smelling oils, you somehow find your mood transitioned to a relaxed one. This is no accident, as this is what aromatherapy does. Your stress and tension are alleviated, your mind is eased, and it is all because you got to smell some homemade bath salts.

If you stay in the bath long enough, be careful as your fingers will lose water and look like prunes. There’s only so much that the Epsom bath salts can do, as they do adjust the composition of the bath water and create a protective layer on the skin so that water does not enter or leave too much.

One little jar of homemade bath salts, a variety of health benefits to reap from. You would have never known that so much could come out of a pretty little colorful jar. It’s nice to know how these salts make you feel and smell inside and out. They are also relatively thrifty and also therapeutic to make.
